Money has always been a part of politics, and campaign finance regulation has existed in some form for almost as long. With the Citizens United v. FEC and subsequent decisions, campaign finance has taken a new form: the Super Political Action Committee.
This work explores the issue of campaign finance and the history of its current form; analysis is provided of Super PAC’s impact on 2010 and 2012 election cycles; and the major players in campaign finance today and the media’s coverage of the issue are discussed.
